Izhora Plants' Museum

The Izhora Plants' Museum (formerly,the Museum of History of Izhora Plants) was opened on November 1,1967. The current exposition was created in 1991-1993 by representatives of St. Petersburg.Center of Painting and Design Art. The author of the project is Vladimir Ginkevich, a member of the Union of Architects of Russia .

Three halls of the Museum show the main stages of the Plants' development from the beginning of the 18th century to the present day. The Museum's exposition area is 350 m2. The exhibits are arranged in historical and chronological order.

Annually, the Museum is visited by up to 5 thousand tourists. Its depository has more than 40 thousand items. Different scientists use Museum materials for their studies; schoolchildren and students write here essays and other works. The Museum staff conducts research and development, takes part in the publication of books on the history of the plant, arranges exhibitions and excursions, gives lectures on local history, cooperates with local press and television.
